TELSTRA BILLPAY – MAY 1999
In May 1999, Service Tasmania and Telstra launched the Telstra BillPay facility, an interactive voice response (IVR) service, which has enabled people in Tasmania to pay a variety of utility and government department accounts by telephoning the designated number on their statements and using their credit card.
Services included are:
· Aurora Energy
· vehicle registrations fines
· land tax
· boat registration
· child dental payments
– as well as Sorell Council, the first council to participate in the Service Tasmania. More than 20 councils are expected to join with Service Tasmania by September 1999.
