ONLINE ADVERTISING’S IMPORTANCE GROWS.

A key to success in the new era of digital media revolves around advertising. Overall, the global share of ad spending on the Internet will increase to almost 9% in 2009, up from nearly 6% in 2006. Highlighting the importance of online advertising, Google made its largest purchase ever with the acquisition of DoubleClick in April 2007 for $3.1 billion. DoubleClick is an ad-management technology company which assists customers in online ad-placement and tracking, including search ads as used by Google, Yahoo and Microsoft.
