INTERACTIVE TV FROM AUSTAR – JUNE 1999

In November 1998, OzEmail indicated it will operate in partnership with Austar for the establishment of a high-speed direct-to-home Internet service trial for Austar’s satellite TV subscribers.

In June the following year the company sealed an agreement with UK-based Open TV that will provide the company with interactive TV software. The company will first provide interactive weather services before venturing into banking and shopping. The service will be launched towards the end of the year.
