Etisalat moves into Sri Lanka
The UAE’s Etisalat launched its brand in Sri Lanka at the end of February 2010. Apart from basic telecommunication services, Etisalat Lanka said it would offer a range of services such as voice and data applications like WAP, GPRS, 3G, MMS, BlackBerry services and others. The company said that enterprise and individual customers on the fixed line network would also benefit from services such as Asynchronous Transfer Mode ATM (ATM), Frame Relay, VSAT and ISDN. Etisalat Lanka coverage was planned to progressively expand to all parts of the country, including the North and East, with operations already commenced in Jaffna.
