With the second-generation of Broadband over Powerlines (BPL) this technology is emerging as a real contender for infrastructure-based competition – especially in regional areas, outer metro areas and other niche markets. Its performance is superior to ADSL and can be offered at very competitive prices. Incumbent telcos are getting worried, which is a clear indication of its potential.
